Namibia

From the scorched moonscape of the Fish River Canyon in the south, to the lush waterways of the Kunene, Kavango and Kwando rivers in the north, Namibia is an extraordinarily beautiful and varied land. With the oldest desert on earth and the treacherous Skeleton Coast, Namibia still manages to sustain an incredible variety of living things, in terrain that is as striking as it is desolate. In the northern part, the Etosha National Park is home to 114 mammal species and tens of thousands of antelope. Namibia offers some of the most amazing wilderness areas and remote wildlife sanctuaries one can find on the African continent. This huge country is teaming with natural beauty and extraordinary wildlife in both national parks as well as the big hunting concessions. Whether you are going to southern Africa for the first time or are returning for another visit, Namibia will offer you the utmost in extraordinary service and luxurious lodging combined with fantastic hunting adventures for numerous plains game and big game species.

In the Kunene region of northern Namibia we bring you some of the best hunting this country has to offer. Our outfitter in this remote and unspoiled part of southern Africa has JR Hunting Namibiaoperated in the same area for more than 10 years and is arguably one of the most successful outfitters in the whole country. The hunting grounds are located 100 kilometers east of Damaraland and 1 hour south of the Etosha National Park and form part of the Etosha Conservancy. This private hunting area stretches out over more than 150,000 hectares of remote and untouched terrain where an abundance of plains game and big game species roam free. The luxurious lodge combined with the great service and outstanding hunting opportunities make this part of Namibia your very own dream safari holiday destination. Upon arrival in Windhoek, you will be picked up at the airport by one of our staff members and transferred to the hunting area. It is approximately a 5 hour drive before you reach the vast hunting grounds northwest of the small town of Outjo in the heart of the Kunene region. The abundance of animals in this area is fascinating and you will be able to view large numbers of plains game such as Oryx, Kudu, Eland, Steenbok, Red Hartebeest and even a few of the species that can only be found in this region such as the Damara Dik-Dik and Mountain Zebra. Shooting distances vary depending on the area that is hunted, but can range up to 200 yards in the mountains.

Weather

Namibia is known for its extremely dry and hot climate, where more than 300 days of the year sunshine is prevailing.
